Ride Oct/Nov 94
A Good-Length video which is chocka full of UK riding from most of the early summer of 94, from pretty much all over the country. We’re talking here about Northampton stuff, Slough King Of Dirt, Coppull Super Grands and KOD, stuff from the Backyard Jam in Hastings, Crowhurst bits and pieces, Pinner jam, a bit with Jon Parker and also quite a wedge of Jon Taylor. It’s a good Home-Grown video made in the classic way. Plenty of good filming going on from all the aforementioned spots with some quite disgusting riding going on. There’s even plenty of cack from Wakefield skatepark with techno stuff from the lads from Carve, and balls out with Mr. Taylor. This is in fact an impressive release, and it’s well worth watching for sure. Music kicks along fairly well, a nice editing job and best of all some of the raddest riding we’ve seen in this country for some time.

Dig Issue#3
If you were to put this issue of Dig (minus the US stuff) onto video it would look a lot like this. A cheap, ropey, cheesey, home-made classic which you really should buy. This is way better than most of the “professionally edited” bike videos available right now. I checked with my friend Will Evans and it seems that the guy who produced this is definitley alright. WARNING: This video contains punk rock.

Ride Aug/Sep 95
Ross Milne has released another video, this one being the sequel to Tense, Nervous Headache, and if you liked that one, then this one will find its way onto your video shelf too. ‘Get Your Tricks Out’ features pretty much riding since KOC 94 from all over the place. There is even a really good section from Moreno Valley BS contest from earlier this year. There is a mix of sections – people (like Jamie Bestwick ruling vert at Wakefield, Matt Warren etc). places (Wakefield, Radlands, etc), it’s all edited together OK, has some good music bits, and all the necessary fidge. If you like UK videos, then check this one out.

Ride Aug/Sep 97
The brand new video from Ross Milne – who has made some great videos in the past – is a complete round-up of the first six months of 1997. And it rocks. This new Cheeky Monkey productions video features riding from all over the country, basically everything is on here: Wakefield sessions, Radlands comp and sessions, Bristol sessions and the BCR jam, trails, back garden funbox sessions, mini ramp, street, flatland, and way more.

The filming is pretty decent throughout, and while it’s no film masterpiece, it’s the riding that really take the credit on this one (plus being in the right place at the right time to film it). The riding on Dirty Jumpers is hot – plus there are some surprises in store. Nice bit of real street with Matt Warren and others. Plus action from the first jams of 1997. Cracking tape.

Ride Aug/Sep 98
New from Cheeky Monkey comes a concoction of modern footage laced with classic TV BMX moments from the seedy past – Andy Ruffell, BMX Beat, Mike Pardon giving safety gear lessons, it’s all here. Classic. The modern footage couldn’t be further from the old stuff – Jamie Bestwick going off in Derby, Jamie Hitchcox all over the place, Tom Holmes, Dan Woodier, Lee Mellor, and sections from Coppull KOD, Bike 98, Southsea, and Backyard 97. All great stuff. Well filmed, good music, and there’s even the 7″ version of BMX’s worst music moment. Awesome.

Ride Feb/Mar 2000
The latest in the line of videos from Cheeky Monkey presents a whole sh@tload of riding from the North area from the past year – look out for parks such as Stockport, Bones, Rampworx and trails and street all over the North-West of our little isle and a list of riders which lists like a Who’s who of the current riding scene. Dylon Clayton, Jon Taylor, Cong, Martin Allmey, Dan Price, James Hitchcox, Lee Mellor, Jerry Galley, Chris Mahoney, and Norther John all make regular appearances throught the tape – but also look out for a load of less famous names who equally rip up their own local parks. Snappily edited, no sections – just riding, punk/hip-hop music throughout, gaffs, good filming, jams, it’s all on here and well worth the paltry tenner CM is charging for it.

Wicked new video from that cheeky monkey, Ross Milne. Featuring footage from the Urban Games, Manchester, London, Liverpool, Southsea, Derby, Chester, Stockport, Bristol, Sheffield and Portugal. –

Paul de Jong,
“Down Town” is a homevdo by Ross Milne which shows some action of his Homies Adam, Mat and Paul Robberts sorry Paul Rogers. These English cheeky monkey’s are riding Down Town and show their stuff on their little bikes.
Even a “motorbiking” part but don’t expect any nac nac’s. All mixed together with material of Rooftop, Achim, Wilke, Axel, Owen Clegg and upcoming supertalent Allister Whitten. Allister is a natural talent who is going to be a pro soon, he learns stuff faster than You can think about it.

Anyone who thinks the top British riderz ain?t as good as the American ones should take a look at this vid! Mainly street/skatepark riding with a sharing of vert chucked in! Footage from the Urban Games, Manchester, London, Liverpool, Southsea, Derby, Chester, Stockport, Bristol, Sheffield & Portugal. Riderz such as Ali Whitten, Owen Clegg, Simon Tabron, Jon Taylor, Adam Drinkwater, Jamie Bestwick, Scott Maylon plus more! All this with a great sound track! Including the Ataris and the Promise Ring. This has to be the best British vid! a 4.5 star. Leith

Chris Young,
Ross sure packed a lot of footage into his latest video. For being only 30 minutes long, this video took me over an hour to watch, but I guess that?s because I kept rewinding stuff over and over again. Jungle Juice has footage from the Seventies tour in Liverpool (Ian Morris, Garret Burns, Robbie Morales and Mike Aitken), the King of Street contest (killer footage of Owain Clegg, Clint Millar, Pil and Scott Maylon), some Palavas footage from last summer, a trip to Woodward (Ruben Alcantara, Bruce Crisman), the Derby Jam and the La Revolution contest in NY last year.

There?s lot of coverage of some of the UK?s next up-and-comers, with short riding profiles of Andy Barton and others, as well as familiar names like Jon Taylor, Jerry Galley and Lee Mellor. There doesn?t seem to be any shortage of parks (both wood and concrete) in the UK, and so the video is mostly park and street footage with a bit of dirt. Some of the camera work is a little shaky is some sections, which is the only real drawback, but the footage is definitely worth watching. A great mix of hip-hop and punk rock ? no complaints there.

Ride Dec/Jan 02
Not just a UK scene video. Jungle Juice is the latest in a long line of videos from Cheeky Monkey Video Productions… this year’s instalment has it all from the past summer: highlights that come to mind includes 70s tour in Liverpool, La Revolution Primo contest, Jon Taylor, King of Street, Sheffield, Derby Jam, Bones Skatepark, Lee Mellor, a section from the mighty Woodward, and a bunch of people you’ve probably never seen before on tape. The riding is all good, it’s British and it’s real. Cheeky Monkey have turned out another good video, and if you’re into UK scene tapes then you’ve gotta add this to your collection. Check out from more info.

Paul de Jong,
Ross Milne is a lucky guy or he is making a lot of money with Cheeky monkey vdo?s. He travelled all over the world for his JUNGLE JUICE, Woodward, Liverpool, Sheffield, New York etc.

Ross is getting better and better with making vdo?s, I don?t know how far he is with computers and but I think he is still doing it the oldfashion way whithout all the hi-tech. That?s what gave him a 4 star this time, just to give him some extra points to encourage him for a next 1. Bio?s from Lee Mellor, Andy Barton, Eric Easson, New schoolers Andy Clarke and Tommy Gore and Oldschoolers Jon Taylor and John Hall ( I know John for a long time but never remembers his name, sorry John its the alcohol thats doing this). Mostly Park and Street on this Jungle juice, some Simon Tabron on Vert will make you very happy, also a very bad crash by Pill. Coverage of the King of Street, Seventies tour with Byrnes and Morales, Woodward with Koji?s Resi double flip, Adam Drinkwater on street, the Revolution contest in NYC (Not many VDO?s showed this comp, Homan ruled it!), and something we will never forget : the World Trade Center NYC.

Ross made this UK/USA vdo very well, music is okay, different riders than normally like Jerry Galley, Owain Claigg, Ed Koenning, Wessel and WAKYWAKY Jon Barnett.
Ross, thanks for the VDO, hope to receive the next creation in the near future!
