About Bruce Logan - Pro Skateboarder Profile, Biography and History

Bruce Logan began skateboarding in the 1950s using a board he crafted from a two-by-four piece of wood and roller skate wheels. He would go on to become one of the first ever professional skateboarders.

In 1963, as a founding member of the Makaha Skateboard team, Bruce collaborated with Larry Stevenson to create the Makaha line of skateboards.

By the mid-1970s, the Makaha/Logan Earth Ski team featured skateboarding legends such as Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Torger Johnson, Bob Biniak, and of course, the Logan family members: Bruce, Brad, and Robin Logan.

Bruce Logan, also known as the “Skateboard Wizard”, holds at least 24 skate competition titles, and he played a pivotal role in putting skateboarding on the map as a legitimate sport and way of life.

The Logan Earth Ski brand, owned and operated by Bruce’s family, became one of the world’s biggest skateboard brands during that era.

Bruce Logan’s name sold more skateboards than anyone else’s during that time, partly due to his artistic vision and collaboration with talented designers resulted in striking skateboard graphics.

Although he faced challenges in the mid-'80s due to drugs and alcohol, Bruce emerged clean and sober with a fresh perspective on life. He is featured in the documentary “DOPE” (Death Or Prison Eventually), which effectively conveys an anti-drug message to the youth.

His favorite trick? The high-speed nose wheelie—a fitting choice for the Skateboard Wizard!

Bruce Logan is still actively involved in skateboarding. His journey has taught him valuable lessons, and now he serves as a mentor, guiding others along their paths.
