Sky Brown representing Great Britain wins park gold at the Skateboarding World Championships.

Sky Brown, 14, has become Great Britain's first skateboarding world champion.

Brown took the gold in park skateboarding at the World Championships in Sharjah, UAE, with a best score of 90.83 from three runs.

This put her more than four points ahead of Kokona Hiraki of Japan, with Olympic champion Sakura Yosozumi of Japan taking bronze.

"Being on the podium with these guys again is insane," Brown said.

"It's just been a lot of fun. I was trying to have as much fun as possible.

"It was an incredible feeling to land all three of my runs."

Brown became Great Britain's youngest Olympic medalist ever when she won bronze in the park at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The World Championships are the first park qualifying event for the 2016 Olympic Games in Paris.

Brown's 14-year-old teammate Lola Tambling finished sixth.

Skateboarding was one of four new Olympic sports added in 2020, with events held in both the 'park' and'street' categories of the sport.
