"May just passed saw the inaugural Uprising Tokyo, an all-new Pro/ Am skate event held at the Ariake Arena in the Japanese capital and hosted by Yuto Horigome. The street course, by California Skateparks, featured replicas of both LA’s Hollywood High 12-stair handrail and San Francisco’s Clipper ledge and so it really favoured the fearless and headstrong.
We mic’d up 2017 Thrasher Skater Of The Year Jamie Foy for a first-person view of his experience navigating press conferences, contest strategy, avoiding ‘racehorse push’ and witnessing the onslaught of a Best Trick contest for the ages!"
